The Southern League is an amateur status league competition run by Southern Football and Mainland Football for Association football clubs located in the South Island of New Zealand. It is at the second level of New Zealand Football behind the national association based New Zealand National League, and the highest level of club based football available to teams within the region.

**Nový Zéland - Southern League** je futbalová liga, ktorá sa hrá na Novom Zélande. Je to piata najvyššia liga v krajine a zahŕňa tímy z regiónu Otago a Southland. Liga sa hrá od roku 1972 a víťaz postupuje do Central League.

**Formát**

Liga sa hrá systémom každý s každým, pričom každý tím odohrá 22 zápasov. Tímy získavajú tri body za výhru, jeden bod za remízu a žiadne body za prehru. Víťaz ligy postupuje do Central League.

**História**

Southern League bola založená v roku 1972 ako "Otago & Southland League". V roku 2016 bola liga premenovaná na "Southern League".

Najúspešnejším tímom v Southern League je Dunedin Technical AFC, ktorý získal titul 12-krát. Ďalšími úspešnými tímami sú Caversham AFC (8 titulov), Green Island AFC (6 titulov) a Northern AFC (5 titulov).
